Isn’t it great when you find a software that can make your job easier? This is what happened to me when I learned about ABBYY FineReader 12 Professional. I can still recall when my boss asked me to convert pdf file to a word document because he needs to edit some information on it immediately. And by that he means it is urgent. With so many pages to work on, I had to find a solution as soon as possible. ABBYY FineReader 12 Professional’s OCR recognition technology made it possible to convert the file into an editable format. Aside from pdf documents, you can also use it for image files. Since this version is faster, it significantly made things easier without compromising the accuracy of the information. This productivity-boosting software eliminates the hassle of retyping documents. At the same time, it enabled the content to be searchable. One key feature of this program is that it supports around 190 languages because of its text recognition capability. I only had to choose an image or information I needed and with one click, I was able to copy the data I wanted. ABBYY FineReader 12 Professional is available for both MAC and PC which makes it accessible to all.

A Powerful Software That Is Designed For Editing Physical Documents

By Isay Almenanza

ABBYY FineReader Professional is an excellent product and I have been using this since I purchased the previous versions of it. In my opinion this program is a very refined, efficient and reliable product that produces the needs of users like me.

For about 5 years or so, I have been stuck using OmniPage. I bought 18 after it came out on the market to substitute the 16 I was using. As time passed by, OmniPage became increasingly hard to use for speedy OCR jobs. And because of that, I purchased the latest version of Abby. I am glad I bought it. It is more advanced and accurate compared to OmniPage, and it is simpler to use for basic tasks. Also, the opening screen provides a selection of tasks. After you choose a task, the program will walk you through a given process. Overall, this program is worth its value. Not perfect, but it is better than the other programs out there.

Pros

  • Saves time and effort when it comes to translating data
  • Can convert PDF to text searchable PDF

Cons

  • This program has no spell correction
