Windows 8 Professional Edition is the advanced version of the current Microsoft operating system. As well as all the features of the standard Windows 8, it incorporates additional functionality. This software is designed for professionals and domestic users who would like to use advanced apps in their work. You can upgrade to this version if you have Windows XP or later.
As the standard version of Windows 8, this software is based on a completely new look and feel; something that could be a little bit overwhelming for users which are used to the classic Windows interface. This new release has been created from a rock-solid prior version –Win7- that is hard to forget and, although Win8 provides users with a more dynamic experience, it seems that it will take some time to completely accept it.
Besides defending itself from the critics, Windows 8 Professional Edition is designed to offer a better performance compared to Windows 7. Designed for many devices: tablets, laptops and PC, this download can be installed from the same hardware as Windows Vista, XP and 7. And, as in the standard version, the browsing experience is completely new thanks to Internet Explorer 11.
Additional software for your enterprise
Windows 8 Professional Edition features vary compared to the standard version. One of the most appreciable differences is the presence of Windows Media Center which is not found in Windows 8. You can purchase it separately with an additional package, but it is not included. With this function you can reproduce DVDs without installing third-party utilities.
BitLocker and EFS are other functions included in the Pro version. The first one is used to encrypt your disc data or external virtual drives such as USBs; while the second one allows you to encrypt folders or specific files. With Win8 Pro you will be free to include a different operating system and use it as it was installed on your computer hard disk thanks to its VHD (Virtual Hard Disk) support.
Windows 8 Professional Edition mainly supports any kind of function to manage your computer as you want. Other option it incorporates is Hyper-V (Virtual platform) enabling you to run multiple machines in single PC. Along with the option of the remote desktop, with this operating system you can control other computers from the distance.

A Program That Represents the Biggest Change to Microsoft’s Operating System

The new Windows 8 Pro edition is comparable to Windows 7 Ultimate and Professional. It includes a lot of features and upgrades important to PC enthusiasts like the capability to obtain remote desktop connections, encrypt your file system, and participate in a Windows server domain and virtual hard booting. This program is perfect for work use as it is more efficient, and has a more secure OS with some brilliant storage and management features, but that exasperatingly divided interface makes it tough to propose for businesses that are not deeply reliant on a mobile workforce. Windows 8 Pro version also supports VHD files and ISO files natively. Also it includes the Hyper-V virtual machine manager from Windows Server. If you cannot see it, go to the Control Panel and it is under the “Turn Windows features on or off”. Moreover, the Windows 8 version lacks GPU virtualization and other network features from the server version.
- Better remote management and security features
- Works well on tablets and has speedy boot times
- Small learning curve but no biggie
Windows 8 Professional Operating System User review by James Meyette

Windows 8 was sought to be something much more than what it ended up being upon release there were a lot of bugs and other issues that users had to deal with until the release of 8.1. Even with the release of 8.1 there is a lot to be desired from Windows 8 which says a few things if you consider the fact that Windows 9 is on its way within the next year.
I use Windows 8 both at home and in the office on a daily basis here are some of the things that I noticed when I first started using this Operating System:
The thing that people complained about the most is the new look(Realistically this is just the start menu, but rather than being a menu it envelopes your whole screen upon using it.)
The system settings are hard to find(This is not so, system settings are very accessible)
I feel that the early on version of Windows 8 gave a lot of users a really bad dislike for it but maybe Microsoft will do a better job with Windows 9 it seems that every other Operating System released by Microsoft is a hit or miss.
In conclusion I don't like to follow what every one else says about it, it does have its downfalls but we don't live in a perfect world. Making use of this OS is not difficult once you realize the slight changes.. and that they aren't so bad after all.
- Holds up to Microsofts standards
- Gives the Windows operating system a refreshing new look
- Was extremely buggy right out of the box and got a huge amount of people to dislike it
Professional Version Suited for Windows OS Enthusiasts and Business Users
By Sam James

Due to its increasing popularity, and perhaps due to curiosity of many, Windows 8 is now being accepted by a considerable number of users. Admittedly, mobile devices have something to do with this increase. We all know that Windows 8 is more adapted to touch-screen environment. In addition, technical support for Windows XP and 7 has been discontinued this year. The take-over of touch-screen-based OS is inevitable. Moreover, you would be surprised to learn that Windows 8 has been available since October 2012. It’s only been recently that it has been gaining popularity. Upon testing, there are some things that I can praise it for. The professional edition is something worthwhile, too. The professional edition was developed for business users and enthusiasts. Along with the basic Windows 8 features, it has added capabilities including Remote Desktop connections and Windows Server domain participation. It can also encrypt file systems and boot from virtual hard disk.
- Can support apps from third parties
- Features Windows Media Player and Media Center
- Cannot upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 8 Professional
